State Foreign Trade Company Ukrinterenergo was established in January 1993 with the purpose of Ukrainian power industry development, ensuring the interests of the state in foreign trade exchange, deepening of economic, scientific and technical ties in the electrical power industry of Ukraine with the foreign economic entities, attracting foreign investments to Ukraine, providing hands-on assistance to energy organizations of Ukraine in the sphere of foreign economic activity, managing customer needs and obtaining income on this basis.


Since its incorporation, the Company has been constantly expanding its scope of activity. As of today the Company has developed a reliable base of business partnership and cooperation in Ukraine and abroad.


One of the Company’s priorities is electricity transit provision through the power grid of Ukraine, export and/or import of electricity, supplies of energy resources and power equipment, mutual emergency assistance, attracting modern technologies and equipment to Ukraine.


Owing to the wide application of marketing technologies, optimization of the main business processes, continuous improvement of the Company’s structure, high proficiency and many years’ experience of its employees, SFTC Ukrinterenergo has managed to achieve significant results both in Ukraine and abroad.


Export of electricity to Eastern European countries


Since its incorporation SFTC Ukrinterenergo has started to carry out one of the main activities, namely electricity export. In particular, electricity export deliveries were made to Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Poland.


Export of electricity to the CIS


The Company has equally significant experience regarding export of electricity to the CIS. Thus, electricity export was carried out to Moldova, Belarus and Russia.


Import of electricity


In 2015, pursuant to Resolution of the Government SFTC Ukrinterenergo imported electricity from the Russian Federation in order to avoid rolling blackouts.


Transit of electricity


One of the main objectives of SFTC Ukrinterenergo is electricity transit provision through the transmission lines of “Burshtyn TPP Island” and thus ensuring the maximum use of transmission capacity of the interstate power transmission lines of Ukraine, resulting in the flow of foreign exchange earnings to the country and increasing contributions to the budget.

At present SFTC Ukrinterenergo provides transit through transmission lines of “Burshtyn TPP Island”, namely:


from the power system of Romania to the power system of Slovakia and/or power system of Hungary;


from the power system of Slovakia to the power system of Romania and/or power system of Hungary;


from the power system of Hungary to the power system of Slovakia and/or power system of Romania.


Import of steam coal


Pursuant to the protocol decisions of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and to ensure the safe operation of Ukraine’s energy system during autumn and winter period in 2014-2015 SFTC Ukrinterenergo supplied the imported critical grades of steam coal to thermal power plants enabling them to accumulate the required coal reserves

SFTC Ukrinterenergoparticipated in power projects construction in Vietnam: North-South power transmission line (500 kV, 1500 km long, tropical conditions), several hydro power plants:

Thac Mo HPP (150 MW), Yali HPP (720 MW), Can Don HPP (72 MW), Srok Phu Mieng HPP (51 MW), as well as the renewal and modernization of the main equipment of Thac Ba HPP (108 MW, with the capacity increase to 120 MW).

In the internal marketSFTC Ukrinterenergo directly participated in providing Ukrainian companies of fuel and energy complex with modern equipment.

Jointly with Energomashengineering Consortium and Burshtyn TPP, SFTCUkrinterenergosuccessfully completed the delivery, assembling and commissioning of prototype model of Ukrainian precipitator for boiler of unit No 11 of Burshtyn TPP. Energomashengineering Consortium has developed this new generation precipitator, and Scientific Research, Design and Survey Institute Lvivteploelectroproekt has carried out the precipitator matching to the power unit cell.

Within the environmental direction, the Company in cooperation with its partners executed works for technical re-equipment of unit boiler precipitators at power units No 10 and No 9 ofBurshtyn TPP, as well as of three precipitators of 7case of the boiler at 800 MWSlovianska TPP power unit.


One of the most important strategic objectives of the Company is establishing partnerships with other enterprises in Ukraine and abroad, as well as implementation of new projects and activities.
